1988 - Dimensions cm 50x70 In realising the work "The Five Towers", I wanted to describe the majesty and uniqueness of the Dolomites. Their changes of color have always fascinated me, and their jagged, rocky outline has convinced me that they were just as I wanted to portray them in detail. To back up my conviction that I had created a reality in reality, there is included the letter from His Holiness John Paul II, who, when he was on summer vacation in Borno, had himself taken up there in a helicopter in order to better admire the spectacular scenery of the five towers. Knowing that his wishes had only been satisfied with some difficulty, I wanted to send him a print, and his letter of thanks confirmed its welcome acceptance.
